Experience or Skills Required:  

  • Current Virginia health insurance license or ability to immediately obtain.
  • Minimum two years of experience in one of the following areas:
    • employee benefits (preferred)
    • project management
    • business account servicing
  • Knowledge of all life, disability, health, and dental areas (both financial and benefits) for multiple insurance companies or TPA (Third Party Administrator) vendors.

Job Duties:

  • Establish and consistently maintain high level of confidence and trust through periodic contacts.
  • Promptly respond to clients and resolve client questions and issues related to claims, billing, enrollment and other group related issues.
  • Interface with clients, agents, other team members and vendors/carriers for new business implementation and renewal processes.
  • Prepare proposals, spreadsheets and enrollments for new business and renewing clients.
  • Handle or provide resources to clients regarding open enrollment meetings, including customized material preparation and communication.
  • Ensure knowledge is maintained and prepare resource information for clients to continually keep informed of benefit trends, State and Federal legislation, rules and regulations.
  • Review all agreements and/or documents for accuracy.
  • Handle all HIPAA protected information with the highest level of protection and discretion.
  • Provide support to Account Management team as needed.
  • Learn and apply each vendor’s and carrier’s procedure for processing requests (enrollment, cancellation, change, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education Required: High School diploma required. Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Job Duties:

  • Provide administrative support to the Chief Operations Officer and Chief Executive Officer of Summit Insurance Services.
  • Manage all front desk operations.
  • Answer phones and greet clients and guests.
  • Process and sort mail.
  • Maintain events and conference room calendar.
  • Maintain In/Out board.
  • Process faxes.
  • Daily kitchen maintenance.
  • Maintaining and ordering supplies.
  • Manage CEO calendar.
  • Process invoices and credit card receipts for submission to Accounts Payable.
  • Manage CEO expense report.
  • Manage all incoming and outgoing UPS shipments.
  • Coordinate events such as quarterly seminars, Gold Cup etc.
  • Administer applicant paperwork and submit to Human Resources.
  • Support agents/staff with special requests such as copying, faxing, filing, mailings, and preparing presentation folders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Summit Insurance Services, Commercial Property and Casualty Agent
The location of this position is flexible and could potentially be at one of the following locations: Moorefield, WV, Winchester, VA or Harrisonburg, VA.  The individual in this position will handle both West Virginia and Virginia business, but mostly West Virginia.

Education requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience or Skill requirements:  

  • 5 years commercial insurance experience required. 
  • Property and Casualty Insurance license required.
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record and ability to travel the assigned geographic territory. 
  • Experience or ability to learn and utilize company-approved software and business system applications.
  • Able to interpret and analyze data, insurance policies, and financial statements.
  • Understand and able to work within a regulatory environment.
  • Understand and apply techniques to manage multiple priorities.
  • High level of professionalism and motivation.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work individually and in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of sales techniques, principles of sales, and sales terminology preferred.

Duties:

  • Develop leads, schedule appointments, identify customer needs, and market appropriate products.
  • Achieve annual new business production goals through consultative sales to new clients and expansion of current clients. Develop and manage an active pipeline of qualified prospects, generating leads from personal contacts, cold calling, networking, client referrals.
  • Develop a business development plan and marketing strategies to compete with other individuals or companies who sell commercial insurance. 
  • Work on multiple coverage lines including but not limited to commercial property, commercial general liability, business owner’s policies, commercial packages, commercial auto etc. – experience in trucking, technology and government contracting preferred.
  • Establish client relationships and follow up with customers.
  • Develop, maintain or establish relationship with underwriters, brokers and non-standard markets.
  • Provide prompt, accurate, and friendly customer service, including responses to specific inquiries regarding insurance eligibility, coverage’s, policy changes, transfers, claims, and billing.
  • Maintain high activity level and strong work ethic with a total commitment to success each and every day.
  • Travel within the market and bank branches locations for the purposes of business development and client meetings.

Description of Position / Function:
This position is Non-Exempt. Customer Service Representatives will perform a broad variety of account opening and customer services.  Opens a wide variety of Consumer and Business Bank Accounts including loans and deposits.  Identifying and completing referrals to other Lines of Business including but not limited to Mortgage, Investments, Cash Management, Commercial Loans and Insurance.  Ability to identify and cross-sell next Summit service or product.  Customer Service Representative will need to be able to assist clients in many aspects of their accounts, including account reconciliation, account maintenance, online and mobile products and services, wire transfers, debit card, check orders, and overdraft assistance.  The employee must be able to assist and open CDARS accounts/transactions, IRA accounts/transactions, and consumer loan products.  The employee will also be asked to educate and profile clients using bank systems.  The employee will be asked to organize their work to include but not limited to complete sales tracking, plans, follow up client calls, client onboarding and client retention.  Adheres to all policy and procedures of the company.  Follows operational procedures to include security.  Customer Service Representative will make our promise of “Service Beyond Expectations” Begins with Me real and believable by following our defined principles.
 
Job Skills and Qualifications Required:
The employee must be comfortable and confident in a sales and service environment.  Highly goal-oriented. Position requires the employee to be cross-trained as a Customer Service Teller and be able to be cross-utilized based on the needs of the branch office.  Must have computer knowledge, good typing skills, math skills, be a good listener and problem solver.  Other services as needed such Notary and NMLS registration.
